The Category Hasn't Evolved

The period care category hasn’t meaningfully evolved in over 100 years. Today’s solutions are inherently reactive, treating pain only after it starts, rather than preventing it. Wave Bye introduces a new standard: a premenstrual, over-the-counter approach designed to be started before period onset, addressing the root cause of both pain and heavy bleeding before they begin.

  • 22B Periods in the US are Undertreated

The average woman experiences ~450 menstrual cycles, representing significant lifetime value and a meaningful opportunity for impact.

  • $15B Annual Market

One of the largest categories in women’s health, spanning products, medications, and cycle management. Representing consistent, recurring spend across a large and underserved population.

  • 56% of Women Use OTC Medications Reactively

Period care today is fragmented; split between reactive medication use and non-medical coping strategies like rest or heat. Around 50% of women rely on these approaches, with no clear path for earlier intervention.

Timing Changes the Outcome

The biological processes that drive cramping and heavy bleeding begin before a period starts. Unlike traditional products, Wave Bye is designed as a pre-dosed regimen to be taken during this premenstrual window—guiding users to start treatment earlier, with the goal of reducing symptom intensity.
